Ghanaian singer Efya has tied the knot with Nigerian singer and songwriter Tomi Thomas in a traditional marriage ceremony in Accra on Friday, November 6, 2026.
The ceremony attracted several personalities from Ghana’s entertainment industry, including Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, musician Sister Derby, actress Fella Makafui, socialite Hajia4Reall and Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority, Kafui Danku.
The occasion celebrated the cultural connection between Ghana and Nigeria, with the couple and their guests embracing traditional fashion, including colourful kente outfits and gold-themed ensembles.
Efya, born Jane Awindor, was seen in a traditional kente outfit, while videos from the event showed family members and guests celebrating the union.
In one of the videos circulating on social media, Tomi Thomas expressed his desire to marry the Ghanaian singer, saying: “I sent my parents with the marriage items because I want Efya as my wife.” Ghana-focusednews app
The wedding follows a traditional knocking ceremony held by the families on February 14, 2026.
At the time, Efya’s management dismissed reports that the couple had secretly married, explaining that the event was a knocking ceremony and that the customary marriage processes had not been completed.
The couple have largely kept details of their relationship away from public attention, making the occasion a significant moment for their fans.
Tomi Thomas first gained recognition as a member of Nigerian music group Loud On Sound (LOS) before pursuing a solo career. He has since worked with artistes including Jamaican singer Buju Banton and American rapper Wale.
The couple are expected to hold their white wedding on Saturday, November 7, 2026.
