Actress Kalsoume Sinare appointed ambassador to Spain

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed veteran Ghanaian actress and filmmaker Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.

The announcement, made public on June 21, is part of a list of 15 diplomatic appointments signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama.

Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe, a celebrated figure in Ghana’s entertainment industry with over 50 film credits and a Golden Actress award, is set to bring her influence and charisma to the diplomatic stage.

Her appointment reflects a growing global trend of leveraging celebrity status to enhance diplomatic relations.

The list of appointees, which includes ambassadors, high commissioners, and a consul-general designate, showcases a diverse group of professionals tasked with representing Ghana’s interests abroad.

Other notable appointments include Benjamin A. Quashie to South Africa, Kojo Bonsu to China, and Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso to India.

The nominees are expected to undergo the necessary processes to formalize their appointments.
