The family of iconic Ghanaian highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, has confirmed his passing after a brief illness. The announcement, released through the legal representatives of Baba Jamal & Associates, was dated July 27, 2025.
“As part of arrangements to honour his memory”, the family has outlined two major events to celebrate the life and legacy of the highlife legend:
- Book of Condolence
A Book of Condolence will be opened at the private residence of the late Daddy Lumba, located at Kinshasha Crescent, house number 12 (GA-332-9264).

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily
- Candlelight Vigil Night
In collaboration with the Creative Arts Agency, a solemn candlelight vigil is scheduled to take place at:

Time: 6:00 p.m.
The Fosu family has appealed to the public to respect their privacy during this period of grief while also encouraging everyone to join in celebrating Daddy Lumba’s extraordinary life and musical legacy.
