In a stunning display of intellect and fierce competition, Mfantsipim School has emerged victorious at the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ), reclaiming its position as champions in Ghana’s most prestigious academic contest.
The atmosphere was electric as the “Botwe” boys outsmarted their formidable opponents, St. Augustine’s College and Opoku Ware School, in a nail-biting finish that had spectators on the edge of their seats.
The grand finale was a true test of mental fortitude, with each round presenting increasingly complex questions.
Mfantsipim’s team, led by their brilliant Benjamin Kwadwo Boakye Anim, Mohammed Mahama Quainoo and Ahmed Tijani Mumuni, supported by their dedicated coaches and enthusiastic alumni, maintained their composure under pressure.

The final round was particularly tense, with scores fluctuating until Mfantsipim pulled ahead in the dying moments, securing their victory with some 56 points.
The cheers erupted as the quiz mistress announced Mfantsipim as the champions, sending waves of jubilation through the auditorium. The team was mobbed by ecstatic supporters, teachers, and old boys, all bursting with pride.
Mfantsipim School is now a 4-time winner of the National Science & Maths Quiz, having been to the grand finals on 6 different occasions. The school previously won in 1994, 2014 and 2024.
