President Mahama appoints Baba Sadiq as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria. The nomination places the creative industry entrepreneur and at the helm of Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Abuja, pending the completion of the required accreditation processes.

His selection signals a blend of political and creative sector experience at a time when both countries continue to deepen cooperation in trade, security and regional integration.

In brief remarks congratulating him on the appointment, the Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa expressed confidence in his ability to represent Ghana effectively and inspire young people across the continent. He said he expect him to uphold Ghana’s interests and strengthen ties between Accra and Abuja while serving in the diplomatic role.

His nomination comes weeks after Baba Jamal was recalled due after his bid to lead the NDC in parliament in the Ayawaso East Constituency.
