GHANA BUSINESS GROWTH SUMMIT TO CHAMPION SME DEVELOPMENT IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD MSME DAY

As the global community continues to recognize the critical role of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in driving economic growth, job creation, innovation and sustainable development, Ghana is set to host a landmark entrepreneurship and business development event in celebration of World MSME Day 2026.

AfriMass Network, in partnership with Katon and Graphic Business, with support from mNotify, Customer Service Africa, Ultiface Communications, Signcom Africa, ThirdWell Inclusive Businesses Centre, DoorMaster and LeatheronCall GH, will organize the maiden edition of the Ghana Business Growth Summit 2026 under the theme: “THE POWER OF SMALL: UNLOCKING THE POTENTIAL OF MSMEs IN GHANA”

The virtual summit will take place on Friday, 26th June 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM, and will be hosted live on the Katon Meet App. The event is being organized in commemoration of World MSME Day, an international observance established by the United Nations General Assembly to recognize the significant contribution of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), poverty reduction, economic inclusion and employment creation worldwide.

Across the globe, MSMEs account for more than 90 percent of businesses and generate a substantial share of employment opportunities, making them indispensable engines of economic transformation. In developing economies, including Ghana, MSMEs serve as the foundation of local enterprise development, innovation and community prosperity.

Despite their importance, many MSMEs continue to face challenges related to access to finance, market opportunities, business formalization, technology adoption, digital transformation, mentorship and growth capital. These barriers often limit their ability to scale, compete and contribute fully to national development. The Ghana Business Growth Summit 2026 seeks to address these challenges by creating a strategic platform that brings together entrepreneurs, startups, MSMEs, investors, policymakers, business leaders, development partners, technology innovators and ecosystem enablers to engage in meaningful dialogue and practical learning aimed at accelerating business growth and profitability.

Speaking ahead of the summit, Raymond Smith founder of AfriMass Network, organizers noted that empowering MSMEs remains one of the most effective pathways for stimulating inclusive economic growth and strengthening Ghana’s private sector.

“The future of Ghana’s economy depends largely on the success of its entrepreneurs and small businesses. MSMEs are not merely participants in economic development; they are drivers of innovation, employment and community transformation. Through the Ghana Business Growth Summit, we seek to provide practical solutions, mentorship opportunities and strategic connections that will help businesses unlock their full potential,” the organizers stated.

The summit will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, expert masterclass, mentorship sessions and networking opportunities focusing on critical business growth areas including:

• Access to finance and investment readiness

• Digital transformation and artificial intelligence

• Business leadership and mentorship

• Customer service and revenue growth

• Innovation and entrepreneurship development

• Sustainable business growth strategies

Under the summit’s tagline, “Mentoring People, Making Profit,” participants will gain valuable insights from experienced business leaders, industry experts, financial institutions and successful entrepreneurs who have built resilient and profitable enterprises.

Organizers expect the event to attract more than 300 participants from across Ghana and beyond, with extensive coverage anticipated across television, radio, print, digital and social media platforms.

The Ghana Business Growth Summit also aligns with ongoing efforts by governments, development agencies, financial institutions and private sector organizations to strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems and improve opportunities for MSMEs as catalysts for economic resilience and sustainable development.

As Ghana joins the international community in celebrating World MSME Day 2026, the Ghana Business Growth Summit aims to reinforce an important message: small businesses possess enormous potential to transform lives, create jobs and drive national prosperity when given the right support, mentorship and opportunities.

The organizers are calling on entrepreneurs, startups, business owners, investors, corporate institutions, development partners and policymakers to participate in this important national conversation and contribute to shaping a stronger future for Ghana’s MSME sector.
