Government directs telcos to effect 10-15% data bundle increase from July 1

Under the leadership of the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Sam George, the Government of Ghana has announced that major mobile network operators, MTN, Telecel, and AT will significantly increase their data bundle offerings starting Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to improve data accessibility for consumers across the country.

During a press conference on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Sam George detailed the forthcoming adjustments, underscoring his ministry’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and affordability for Ghanaians.

The initiative aligns with the minister’s ongoing efforts to advance Ghana’s digital transformation and ensure equitable access to internet services.

Key Changes to Data Bundles

AT
10% Increase Across All Data Bundles: All existing data bundles will see a 10% boost in data volume.

GH¢400 Bundle Upgrade: The current GH¢400 bundle, offering 195 gigabytes, will now provide 236 gigabytes of data starting July 1, 2025.

Telecel
10% Increase Across All Data Bundles: Telecel will also increase all data bundles by 10%.

GH¢400 Bundle Upgrade: The GH¢400 bundle, which currently offers 90 gigabytes, will be enhanced to provide 250 gigabytes from July 1, 2025.

MTN
15% Increase Across All Data Bundles: MTN will implement a 15% increase in data volume for all existing bundles.

GH¢399 Bundle Restoration: The popular GH¢399 bundle, previously adjusted to a GH¢350 bundle offering 92.88 gigabytes, will be reinstated at GH¢399 and upgraded to offer 214 gigabytes starting July 1, 2025.
