Leading African PR and rating firm, Avance Media, has announced the inaugural edition of the Top 100 Ghanaians Powerlist 2025, an annual publication recognising Ghanaians whose influence, leadership, and authority have significantly shaped Ghana’s political, economic, social and cultural landscape over the past year.

Presented across 10 carefully defined categories, the list cuts across all vital sectors of Ghanaian society, including governance, civil society, business leadership, media, sports, religion, traditional leadership, education, law, and national security.

Notable figures featured on the 2025 list include heads of the arms of government, such as H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and Vice President H.E. Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

The list also recognises leading figures across business, culture, media, and civil society, including Dr Daniel McKorley, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, and Patricia Obo-Nai in business leadership; entertainment and sports icons Diana Hamilton, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Mohammed Kudus; media figures such as Manasseh Azure Awuni, Anita Erskine, and Kwadwo Sheldon; as well as religious and traditional leaders including Pastor Elvis Agyemang, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, and Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin.

The 2025 Powerlist features 28 prominent Ghanaian women, including Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh, Gertrude Araba Torkornoo, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, and Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, reflecting women’s leadership and influence across national and international spheres.

Speaking on the release, Prince Akpah, Founder and Managing Director of Avance Media, stated: The Top 100 Ghanaians Powerlist is our editorial assessment of the most influential Ghanaians. It goes beyond titles to examine influence, impact, and relevance, recognising those who lead, shape narratives, and have the power to cause change. The Powerlist is also intended to provoke national reflection on leadership, and accountability, while documenting how power is exercised across Ghana’s evolving society.”

Selection for the Powerlist is guided by five key criteria: influence; leadership and authority; measurable impact; relevance within the year under review; and public visibility and accountability.
